Act provides federal funding for important programs that advance innovation and evidence.
WASHINGTON, D.C. | December 18, 2015 – America Forward and Members of the America Forward Coalition issued the following statement today after the Senate passed the Consolidated Appropriations Act to fund the federal government for Fiscal Year 2016. The legislation passed the Senate by a vote of 65 to 33. Earlier today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the bill by a vote of 316 to 113.
“The America Forward Coalition applauds the Congressional approval of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016 which funds many of the key America Forward federal priorities that have a significant impact on the lives of those we serve. We are particularly pleased to see the inclusion of funding for programs like the Social Innovation Fund (SIF), the Investing in Innovation (i3) Fund, AmeriCorps, Performance Partnership Pilots (P3), and 21st Century Community Learning Centers that spur innovation, reward results, and catalyze cross-sector partnerships to propel America forward.
Although today’s passage of an Appropriations bill is a huge success for our Coalition and its member organizations, much work remains moving forward to ensure these critical programs continue to receive funding for years to come. America Forward and the America Forward Coalition look forward to working with Congress and the Administration on the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget and Appropriations process.”
