CoGenerate

CoGenerate has launched a new challenge to support entrepreneurs focused on cross-generational workforce development – advancing their mission of bringing older and younger generations together to solve urgent social challenges. The CoGen Challenge to Advance Economic Opportunity allows organizations to compete for 8 spots that will each receive a $20,000 investment, access to coaching and resources, and six-months of acceleration programming to support the work they do. The challenge is open to qualifying innovators including (but not limited to) nonprofits, social enterprises, commercial ventures, policy shops, and academic institutions. The deadline to apply is October 16!

Enterprise Community Partners

Enterprise Community Partners is a national organization that works to address the housing crisis across America through community development, capital investment, solutions- based programming, and policy advocacy. Recently, they announced their 2022 Social Return on Investment Report, highlighting key accomplishments, including investing $10.2 billion across the country, creating and preserving a total of 76,000 affordable homes, and more. Exalt

exalt is a New York-based nonprofit that works to advance the success, life outcomes, and skill development of 15-19 year olds who have experience within the criminal justice system. Their programming includes classes, individual guidance, job and internship support, networking opportunities, and more. On their website, you can find a Webinar Library filled with important conversations with government officials, community leaders, and other experts on how to make our country more just and equitable, and learn more about their work today!

KIPP Public Schools

KIPP Public Schools are public charter schools dedicated to supporting students’ academic journeys and character development. A recent, independent study by Mathematica found large positive impacts for students who attend KIPP middle and high schools. Mathematica found that students who attend KIPP middle and high schools were 67% more likely to enroll in a BA program college, as well as twice as likely to graduate from a 4 year college, among other findings. UpTogether

This summer, UpTogether launched the second season of their Moving Up Together Podcast, where they share stories related to the experiences and myths of “poor” people in the United States. UpTogether works to change the narrative and shape policy related to under-resourced communities by providing direct investment, amplifying real, lived stories, and advocating for systemic change. The most recent episode of the Moving Up Together podcast, hosted by Candi Marie and XiMena Diaz, discusses education and the difference in access to resources and funding across the country.
