Every month, America Forward highlights examples of the vital work our Coalition members do to support students, families, educators, workers, elected leaders, advocates, and communities across the country. If your organization has resources, an announcement, or a story you would like to see included, please send it to america_forward@newprofit.org.

National Math and Science Initiative
The National Math and Science Initiative advances STEM education across the country by providing professional development programming for STEM educators and engaging underserved students in STEM education. Their programs and work focus on increasing STEM access and achievement at the local, district, and national levels to build the next generation of scientists and innovators. Their website hosts a multitude of free content to support educators in this mission, including guidebooks on education research, free lesson plans in a variety of subjects, and more!
Saga Education
As artificial intelligence accelerates and integrates more deeply into our lives, its impact on the classroom and students’ learning experiences is clear, but many educators and education leaders have questions. Saga Education, a nationwide high-impact personalized tutoring program that works to advance educational equity, recently released a new guide for district leaders on navigating the impact of AI on education. For more resources, you can check out the Saga Education Blog, which features free insight into the research and content that shapes their success and programming.
Service Year Alliance
National service is critical to providing essential community services, preparing individuals for diverse career paths, and fostering unity among individuals working towards a common goal! Service Year Alliance helps young people across the country learn valuable professional and leadership skills through engaging national service. However, recent reductions in AmeriCorps funding, which supports the young people engaged through Service Year, and further cuts proposed for FY25 have led to uncertainty about AmeriCorps positions and, as a result, obstacles for nonprofit and community-based organizations. Without additional funding, even more AmeriCorps positions may be lost next year. This month, America Forward participated in a virtual day of action to tell representatives to support and fund national service. You can click here to learn more or join in the action.
