Eye to Eye
Eye to Eye is a nonprofit organization that serves students who learn differently through peer-based mentoring and professional development – working to develop community, understanding, skill development, and self-determination and self advocacy. They’ve opened up a brand-new Neurodiversity Scholarship, available to neurodivergent students between the ages of 16 and 26, to support their college enrollment. The scholarship also includes a year of virtual mentorship from Eye to Eye alumni members! Applications are due by January 15.
Zearn
Zearn develops curriculum and supports educators so that students can make sense of math and engage deeply with new concepts. They provide a number of free, accessible resources on their website, including motivational classroom posters and a webinar library. Educators for Excellence
Educators for Excellence is by teachers, for teachers – engaging educators in critical conversations on the policies that will shape the future of their work and education throughout the country. Earlier this month, they released their 2022/2023 Annual Report, sharing deep analysis of the challenges facing the education profession, as well as sharing the work they have done throughout the country to support educators and students. Michelson 20MM Foundation
The Michelson 20MM Foundation works to expand access to higher education by breaking down cost barriers, increasing access to education and employment, and investing in student academic success. Last month, their Textbook Affordability Fellow, Kaitlyn Wagman, attended the Open Education Conference, and now she’s sharing her experience with other students. You can read more here!
YouthBuild
YouthBuild uplifts communities and young people by supporting the skill development and providing the resources needed to access education and develop careers. Now, they’re announcing a new program pathway, supporting careers in manufacturing and logistics! This program will allow young adults to learn job skills particularly focused on manufacturing and logistics, and connect them with employers looking to hire.
