Every month, America Forward is highlighting a few examples of the vital work being done by our Coalition members to support students, families, educators, workers, elected leaders, advocates, and communities across the country. If your organization has resources, an announcement, or a story that you would like to see included, please send it to america_forward@newprofit.org.
Zearn
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, students, caregivers, and teachers across the country are continuously forced to adjust to a changing educational landscape. To help the communities they serve navigate these disruptions to learning and succeed in the classroom and beyond, Zearn offers key math resources including webinars, course guides, parent and caregiver support, case studies, and more.
Leading Educators
Leading Educators is committed to ensuring that teachers and school leaders have the tools and resources necessary to best support and empower their students. To that end, Leading Educators has developed Teaching for Equity, “an integrated vision designed to guide you to reflect on your teaching, to support whole students, and to live out your commitments to anti-racism.”
LISC
Two years into a global pandemic, far too many communities and families still face significant barriers to recovery. To support those hardest hit by COVID-19, LISC created the Rapid Relief & Resiliency Fund, which provides critical financial support for women- and minority-owned small businesses, community-based organizations, and tech support and infrastructure.
Springboard Collaborative
Reading comprehension is a key component of learning for every young person, but not everyone has access to the resources necessary to support this skill development. To help close the reading achievement gap, Springboard Collaborative offers resources for families, teachers, and school systems to ensure that every student, no matter their reading level, has the opportunity to grow and thrive.
The People
The People is dedicated to bringing communities together and encouraging civic action on shared issues. Integral to these efforts is ensuring that everyone has the information and resources necessary to exercise their right to vote. To this end, The People compiled a voter resource guide to help their community “register, make a plan, get informed, and vote.”
