Today’s students aren’t just 18- to 21-year-olds fresh out of high school. They are adults older than 25 who are struggling to balance their learning with working, raising children and paying the bills.
[ezcol_1half]Today’s students are enrolling in college with more responsibilities and less financial and emotional support, and as a result, their odds of success are slimmer.
Though today’s students look different than they did decades ago, our policies and practices haven’t kept pace with this change. If we want outcomes for today’s students to change, our federal policy should create incentive for higher education to change too.
