National Student Partnerships (NSP) is mobilizing a national movement of college students dedicated to community development and social change. NSP directs the energy and innovation of young people toward ensuring that disadvantaged members of their communities have access to the services, opportunities, and attention necessary to pursue self-sufficiency and personal success. Student volunteers staff NSP’s national network of drop-in resource centers and work one-on-one with low-income community members to provide intensive on-site and referral services in employment, housing, legal aid, and healthcare.

Results

  • NSP has helped more than 15,000 clients achieve their goals, and mobilized more than 2,500 trained student volunteer advocates.
  • NSP student advocates contributed nearly three times the national average of volunteer hours between September 2005 and August 2006 to provide more than 28,692 employment-related, 11,148 housing-, and 4,074 education-, or job-related services.
