College Summit is increasing the college enrollment rate of low-income students by ensuring that every student who can make it in college makes it to college. College Summit builds the capacity of schools to dramatically increase college-going rates. Trained students help to influence their peers and build a college-going culture, while teachers and counselors use a managed curriculum and technology tools to help students create postsecondary plans and apply to college. Data and accountability tools equip school leaders to manage improved student outcomes. As a result, all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background, see high school graduation as a launching pad to a successful future.

Results

  • Seventy-nine percent of the more than 7,000 College Summit workshop participants have enrolled in college, nearly double the national average of 46 percent for low-income high school graduates.
  • Eighty percent of College Summit workshop participants who enroll in college remain in college—having graduated or remaining enrolled within six years—above the national rate across all demographics.
