Civic Ventures is leading the call to engage millions of baby boomers as a vital workforce for change. Its signature program, Experience Corps, offers Americans over 55 years old opportunities to solve serious social problems, beginning with literacy. Locally recruited Corps members spend up to 15 hours a week serving as tutors and mentors to more than 20,000 children annually in urban public schools and after-school programs.

- Ninety percent of principals with Experience Corps teams in their schools report significant improvement in student academic performance and readiness to learn.
- Nine out of 10 Experience Corps members report an increased sense of usefulness and social connectedness since joining the program
