Online technology played a large role in President-elect Obama’s campaign, and now it’s helping to disseminate information about the progress of the new administration. Last week the Office of the President-elect launched Change.gov, an online information hub to keep the public informed with news and updates about activities conducted by the President-elect and Vice President-elect during the next two months.
Several messages from the campaign trail are reinforced on the web site including President-elect Obama’s focus on transparent government, engaging citizens, and bringing an agenda of change to Washington. It’s exciting to see that the administration’s plans to scale national service are detailed under the America Serves section where President-elect Obama incorporates language from the Serve America Act, a bill that he co-sponsored in September.
Content on the site will update frequently with the addition of YouTube video addresses, blog entries, and further details about the agenda of the new administration as it unfolds. We’ll be watching Change.gov to see what plans the new administration outlines for social entrepreneurs and their organizations and will bring you all the details here on our blog. Stay tuned!
